How did On Top Creations come about?
I’m a Mum of two and based in Whangarei. Like many others in the cake biz I started when my eldest turned one and I needed to get her a first birthday cake. We wanted something special for her without it costing an arm and a leg so I decided to make her cake. I soon discovered that I had a natural talent for making fondant figurines.
I quickly realised that many other Mums also want a cost-effective way to personalise their children’s birthday cake, family-members anniversary or for all special occasions. With an On Top Cake Topper you can create that wow factor quickly and easily without slaving for hours in the kitchen.
I registered my kitchen to be able to sell cakes and cupcakes as well as many people still prefer to buy a whole decorated cake. I’ve always had a passion for baking and making things. My favourite part of making toppers and cake is seeing my customers eyes light up when they see my creations.
Unfortunately early 2020 I decided I’m not going to be making cakes this year. Even though I love making them, they are very time consuming and I found I was juggling too many things. My family needs me more. I want to thank everyone who has ordered from me in the past – I enjoyed doing all of your cakes and really appreciate your support.
